I have owned Dobermans my entire life, having received my first red dobie puppy at 10 years old. While I participated in 4h obedience/ conformation classes I became hooked on the fun and bonding of training dogs as companions brings.
Our kennel was "officially" founded in 1998 with the registered name of Fladwood Kennels. As fate would have it, our family ended up doing 90% rescue work, (which became a passion). We learned to do Schutzhund, obedience, agility, with many rescues as we rehabilitated them, to give them new life. As a natural progression, we returned to the Conformation ring with a couple of our girls, (Angel and Callisto) and my daughter learned Junior handling as well.
In 2005, I renamed our kennel after our beautiful amazing blue Marienburg female, Angel. She was petite, smart, loyal, calm and just the best. Wicked smart, incredibly healthy, she was the standard we strive to achieve, and we miss her tremendously.
We belong to 2 of the Australian Shepherd clubs and 3 of the Doberman Clubs to stay up to date on the breeds, as well as 3 Working dog Clubs. I am very active in these clubs, and am the President of Valley Dogsport Club, a United Doberman Club charter club.
Our belief is that a Doberman should do it all--beauty, have brains, work and snuggle on the couch. We strive for the Total Doberman, one who is able to compete in all Venues.
